...last week ( 2nd Oct ) at the Wren, Elaine started the night as usual.
George cleaned out our earwax with a few 2/4 and 3/8 Bourrees on his set of cornmuse pipes.
Betty Verrill gave us a taste of Scotland on her accordion.
Our guests, George Welch and Stewart Hardy, blasted out some fabulous tunes...
...and George's deep rich voice together with Stewart's brilliant fiddle playing produced
some wonderful songs between the jokes and daft stories.
Arthur Oakley started the second half with some excellent songs and the best version of
Graham Miles' "The Shores of Old Blighty". that I have heard.
Avril & Paul gave us a couple of contemporary songs before George and Stewart returned
to the stage for the second half. ( and a Late finish ) -
Paul
